Founded in the mid-1980s in Britain as a family enterprise, Joanna Pinewood Education (JPE) was built on one principle: giving people the tools to think, learn, and succeed independently.
Our origins trace back to book publishing in UK and desk top publishing training in Soviet Poland where we worked alongside writers, translators, and sociologists – including Maciej Slomczynski and carrying forward the legacy of Janusz Korczak – publishing underground manuscripts. In 1989, we helped introduce desktop publishing technology to independent publishers across Kraków and Warsaw, helping uncensored ideas and literature flourish.
